- Aerophany
- The paradigm shift
caused by humans living on Mars. This term is used throughout the trilogy
to express the political, cultural and conceptual reality of living
on Mars in a uniquely Martian manner (as opposed to Terran) that, in
the case of the Reds, evokes a respect for the surface of Mars as it
is.
Acheron
- The location
of Vlad's first genetic research center,
Russell was at Vlad's new headquarters, a research complex built
into a dramatic fin ridge in the Acheron Fossae north of Olympus Mons.
